Hello,
I am also looking for information on Graybill and Klein. I am an American living in France. There is a man named Jean Pierre Briole who is the “parrain” over the two gravesites of these 2 brave men who gave their lives liberating Provence and we downed in Vauvenargues. Briole does a wonderful thing in which he organizes reenactments and parades with real costumes and equipment throughout Provence to give tribute to the American liberation during WWII. As my father served in WWII with the U.S. Army – D-Day +2 Utah Beach, age 25 with 5 battalions under him, and on with Patton’s Third Army – I went to some of these local ceremonies and met Briole who is very devoted to his two fallen pilots. I had a very good genealogist in my parish do some work to find more information about Graybill and Klein for him which is quite good. I can send you what she did and perhaps together we can bring their story to light. Briole is holding an event on August 20, 2024 in Vauvenargues celebrating 80 years since its liberation and could show you their graves. Vauvenargues is also where Picasso lived. Hope to hear from you soon! Julie Shurtz Muyldermans. I have one e-mail address for a family contact for Graybill but have not had any return.
